Thank you for considering joining our Club. We hope that it
is the start of a long and joyful archery journey for you.
ABOUT US
We are an inclusive, diverse, friendly and supportive group
who enjoy target archery and enjoy sharing what target archery at our Club offers.
The Club is exclusively a target archery club.[i]
WHY JOIN CHEWTON ARCHERS?
Joining our Club provides you with the following benefits:
· 1. Affiliation
with Archery Australia and Archery Victoria, which brings you:
o
insurance
cover while participating in archery at Club facilities and during Club
activities,
o
the
technical and social support that membership of Australia’s target archery
community offers;
o
pathways
to competing at Club, State, National and International levels (if competition
is your interest);
· 2. 7-day
access to Club shooting facilities comprising a 70 metre outdoor range, a 90
metre outdoor range, an 18 metre indoor range and a 12 target field course, all
within the natural wonder and tranquility of the Club’s Victorian Goldfields
bushland setting;
· 3. Access
to the Club shooting equipment (for a small daily fee), until you purchase your
own equipment (about which the Club can provide guidance);
· 4. Access
to Club coaching support; and
· 5. Our
social, inclusive and supportive Club culture – check out our core principles on
the Club website.
REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP
Anyone 8 years old or older can join our Club. You can become
a member of the Club if:
1. 1. You have completed a beginners course at our Club or another Club affiliated with Archery Australia;
OR
2. 2. You have archery experience and your archery skill has been assessed as suitable by one of our Club coaches. Contact our Club to make an appointment;
OR
3. 3. You are transferring from another Club.
HOW TO JOIN
If you meet
the requirements for membership, complete your application and pay online on
the Gameday website at: https://memberdesq.sportstg.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=main&OrgID=8150 (click the ‘New Members Join’ button).
Your membership application is promptly considered by the
Club Committee, and you are advised of the outcome of your application.

*Please
note that, of the total membership fee paid, Chewton Archers receives $30 for
an adult and $15 for a person < 18y.o., the remainder of the annual fee is
received by Archery Australia and Archery Victoria.
Range Fees
Club range
fees are payable in addition to the annual membership fee. These fees
contribute to upkeep of the Club’s facilities, including replacement of target
butts, target faces and ground/building maintenance.

You
may choose whichever payment option suits you and you may become a member
without paying an upfront range fee.
Equipment hire
You
do not need to buy a bow immediately in order to continue shooting with us as a
new member.
The
Club has a small number of suitable bows which it hires subject to availability,
along with arrows and protective equipment:

STILL NOT SURE?
If you meet
the requirements for membership (see above) but are not sure about joining, you
are welcome to come and shoot with us on Club days (Sundays between 9-00am and
1-00pm). You will need to register as a temporary member on the day (cost $10;
additional fee if you use Club shooting equipment: see above) and you are
allowed to do this for a maximum of four days in a year.
